Foundation Courses for Overseas
(Non EU) Students

We offer two 30-week courses commencing September 2000 for direct entry to the first year of our Partner University undergraduate degree programmes upon satisfactory completion of the course at the end of the academic year.

In the long term, our intention is that these courses would start in September and/or January depending on the country of origin, academic ability and English language level of the students.

Since the college was established in 1981 we have provided Intensive One Year A level and GCSE, September - January A level Retake, and the usual two year courses, for both British and Overseas students, with a 90% university entrance success. Our English department prepares students for the Cambridge range of externally awarded examinations and for entry to post graduate degrees.

The current demand is for students ultimately seeking entry to Business (Accounting, Business and Marketing, Economics) and Maths/Science (Engineering, Maths, Science) faculties.

These courses combine academic subjects with English and students would be expected to reach an IELTS level of 6.0+ in English with at least two AS academic subject passes. We will be covering most of the A level syllabus in three subjects. Students would also take our CLAIT course (Computer Literacy and Information Technology) if they did not already have these skills and Study Skills (Key Skills) is an integral part of these courses.

Students with a low level of English would take our Intensive English course before starting the course.

The subjects offered, depending on students' intended study destinations and Partner University entry requirements, are:

Business Faculty - Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, ICT, Law and Mathematics.
Maths / Science Faculty - Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and ICT Electronics.

The average class size is no more than 8 students and all students are tested weekly in one of their three subjects, each subject in a repeating three-week cycle.

Fees: £12950.00 inclusive of accommodation

Please contact the college for more details.
